About ABC Support
ABC Support is an integrated, supplemental intervention that combines improving targeted academic skills with strengthening positive learning-related behaviors.
Academic and Behavior Combined Support (ABC Support) is designed to focus on developing reading fluency and strengthening learning-related behaviors (engagement and compliance) among early elementary students. ABC Support is aligned with a recent trend toward blending academic Response to Intervention (RTI) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS).
Implementing Interventions
ABC Support addresses the co-occurrence and link of academic and behavior challenges. ABC Support works to provide an effective and efficient supplemental intervention as well as prevent long-term negative outcomes associated with early academic and behavior challenges. Additionally, it serves as a model for integrating core features of academic and behavior interventions.
How to implement
ABC Support is a supplemental integrated intervention that addresses both behavior and academic challenges within existing multi-tiered systems of support. ABC Support is designed to be implemented three times per week, 20 minutes per session, for six to ten weeks.
Guides for training
